Rathfriland War Memorial

Rathfriland War Memorial

Erected in 1955, the 20ft high granite clock tower stands in Church Square in remembrance of the 80 men from the town and district who died in the two World Wars.  The ground was donated by the Meade family and the £1100 required to build the memorial was raised by the local community.  The clock cost £350, £300 of which was donated by Miss Jane Woods, teacher and member of the Royal British Legion. The upkeep is undertaken by the Royal British Legion.
